Minutes/notes of the meeting of 27th March were agreed to be a true record.

 

Matters arising:

Action

Parking issues, particularly on Carter Lane, were reported by Barbara to be an ongoing concern being dealt with by C. Cllr Chris Winterton.

John said that the issue of time limits to parking on Newgate Lane had been dealt with by Cllr Malcolm Sage.

Had the bollards issue been addressed?

Had the pruning of trees and overgrown planters issues been taken up? Residents were reported to have agreed to maintain the planters if they were first cleared and tidied, preferably with plants in them. If no action is forthcoming they may resort to calling in the Chad.

Ann reported that the warehouses are beginning to look smarter, and that Scrooges have applied for a grant.

 

The Treasury courtyard was pleasing. However one step had a dangerous hole that the Church people were investigating, and then reporting to MDC if necessary.

a)      It was agreed that officers of MDC be invited to future meetings: Harold Yapp, Chris Veasey, and Kathryn Smith?

b)      Barbara drew attention to the Ravensdale & Sherwood “visioning conference” to take place on 7-8 July. It was agreed that Jo would contact Joyce Bosniak or Barbara to facilitate making the NAG mailing list available to the conference organisers.

c)      Mick Lee said that this would be his last meeting as, after 29 years, he was soon going to be working within the new police station. Mick was thanked and his move regretted.

 

d)      Sheila Judson reported on an issue relating to her gennell. Mick Lee agreed to try and resolve it and if unsuccessful to pass it to MDC via Barbara.

e)      John reported that the footpath between Mill Street and Rock Hill is blocked by broken glass.

f)       John raised other unresolved issues from the January meeting: 1. light needed for garages on Mill Street; 2. untidiness of 48 Bolsover Street. 3. adjacent to 38 Montague Street is an untaxed camper van that has been there since Easter, off the highway.

 g) The pocket park delays were explained.

 

h) Jackson’s field progress: Anthony Hodge was reported to be in the process of putting together the necessary funding package, as well as negotiating with One to One.

 

i)        The footpath between Mill Street and Rock Hill was reported to be full of broken glass.

j)        Ann and Barbara reported on the legal situation at 141 and hoped that progress would be made in the near future.

 

k)      The roofing contractors at the shops being improved by the Sherwood Coalfield Development Trust were reported to be operating with lax safety arrangements.

l)        Don Smith’s proposal to use 110 for housing office staff was asked about.  Barbara to make enquiries.

Ann Norman announced her intention to resign as Chair of the Group. She was thanked profusely for all her many years of hard work. Michelle agreed to take over as Chair and everyone said they would support and help her.

 

The date of the next meeting was agreed as

 

Tuesday 26th June at Newgate Lane School.
